Besides looking beautiful, the shape fits incredibly comfortable, as has been confirmed by all of our customers. People of all heights, weights, and sizes.
The removable insole provides built-in arch support, and can easily be replaced with an orthopedic insole if needed.
We're a Belgian-Dutch company based in the North-Eastern Limburg area of Belgium. Here we do our everyday work like designing shoes and communicating with customers.
Lennertson is also made up of the countless people who contribute to our mission. Be it our lastmaker in England, our craftspeople in Spain and Portugal, or you who wears our shoes anywhere in the world.
We grew in working class families and greatly admire the men and women who work on our footwear. Fair & safe labor conditions are essential to us. We produce locally within the European Union, where the highest standards of these laws and rights are guaranteed. We choose to only collaborate with companies that share our values. Being close allows us to visit frequently and maintain a close relationship with all our partners.
We source our leather traditional tanneries in Europe. European tanneries are strictly regulated by the European Environmental Agency, resulting in far more environmentally friendly tanning practices than in many other parts of the world. We only use leathers that are a side-product of the meat industry.
As part of our design process, we’re always discovering unique leathers and tanneries.
Here are some we frequently work with: Boaventura (Portugal), Alaska (Italy), Oehler (Germany), Annonay (France), Dafar (Serbia), Sciarada (Italy), Puccini (Italy), and more.
Our rubber soles are made by local European, family-run businesses as well.
Regarding footwear sustainability, construction methods are equally important to sourcing. Our shoes are Goodyear welted, with stitched soles instead of glued. This results in far more sustainable shoes that will last you a very long time and are endlessly repairable.
This question isn't actually asked frequently because customers fall in love with our shoes from the moment they open the box.
Lennertson shoes and boots are made in a traditional and artisanal way.
The process involves a lot of handcraft, and when machines are used, it's always a person's hand guiding the shoe. As such, it's perfectly possible for you to see slight imperfections: two stitches that are not the exact same size, slight color variations, etc.
A computer makes things perfect. A human being makes things with passion, love, and charming imperfections. That's our view; we believe you'll share it.
Ik heb nu 3 paar Lennertson sneakers (the Pelgrim), ik draag ze dagelijks, ze zijn mooi afgewerkt, zitten goed, behouden hun vorm... ik vergelijk ze met de santoni's die ik vroeger droeg.

Na lang zoeken eindelijk een schoenmaker gevonden die, met oog voor detail en kwaliteit, prachtige schoenen maakt. In de winkel in Gent wordt je begeleid in je keuze van model en maat. Zowel mijn Chieftain als Pilgrim zitten als gegoten en zien er zeker niet uit als dertien in een dozijn, je ziet en voelt de uitstekende kwaliteit!
Ons eerste bezoek aan de winkel in Gent was zéér leerrijk en zeer aangenaam ! I’ve had these shoes for over a year, and I’m still very happy with them. I’m quite demanding when it comes to shoes, but these immediately felt different. The quality is outstanding, the leather feels premium and the shoes are built to last.
What I like most is that they combine the look of a stylish sneaker with the comfort and support of a much more substantial shoe. They feel solid, supportive and comfortable all day long. Even after a year of wear, they still look great and feel just as good.

Although there is not enough choice in Colors, the quality is outstanding. I have two pairs in which I use orthopedic soles and never had a problem. The maintenance is easy and top after-sales service.

We went to the physical store in Gent. The reception and information given about the shoes and how they were made was really great. It's the first time that I'm actually purchasing a high quality sneaker (and shoe in general really). They are really easy to use and fit like a glove. You can also see that the materials used are of high quality. They are a match for all outfits!
