1. Use a shoe horn

Seriously — easily 80% of shoe damage and repairs could be prevented by using a shoe horn every time you put your shoes on.
Heel counters, back seams, and lining parts often get damaged simply from forcing shoes on without one. And no: using your finger as a shoe horn is not the same as using an actual shoe horn 😉

2. Use shoe trees

Shoe trees help preserve the shape of the shoe and absorb moisture after wear.
Especially with leather-lined footwear, this makes a noticeable difference over time.

3. Rotate your shoes

Leather, cork and rubber are natural materials. They benefit enormously from getting a day of rest after heavy wear.
When possible, try not to wear the same pair more than two days in a row, but alternate between them.

4. Store them properly

Avoid storing your shoes:
→ next to heaters
→ in direct sunlight, especially behind glass
→ or in damp, poorly ventilated spaces

After rain or wearing them, always let them air dry at room temperature; this will prevent all kinds of damage.
