What Are B-grades?

Handmade products naturally have tiny imperfections—it's part of their charm.

However, sometimes a shoe can have a small yet specific cosmetic flaw that doesn't meet our standard for being sold at full price. This can include less consistent stitching, needle or other constructional defects, or visual issues not of organic nature.

Why consider a B-grade?

Because you love a bargain! And don't mind minor flaws. They're still beautiful and constructionally sound shoes.

Our benchmark is that any flaws are not noticeable to another person looking at your feet.

FAQ

Why do we sell B-grades?

For us, it’s about sustainability. Some brands destroy products with minor flaws, but we find that wasteful and unconscionable. Every pair of our shoes is crafted with care and dedication—too much work and human effort go into each pair to simply discard them. If a shoe still looks good and is structurally sound, why not offer it at a great price to our fans? Let’s all strive to be a little less wasteful in our fashion choices.

What last (shape & fit) is used for this pair?

THE MICHAEL LAST

Rounded toe box, slightly increased width, medium arch support

Nearly three years were spent on its incremental development in collaboration with Michael James, the master last maker from the Springline company in Northampton, England.

Besides looking beautiful, the shape fits incredibly comfortable, as has been confirmed by all of our customers. People of all heights, weights, and sizes.

Where is Lennertson located?

We're a Belgian-Dutch company based in the North-Eastern Limburg area of Belgium. Here we do our everyday work like designing shoes and communicating with customers.
Lennertson is also made up of the countless people who contribute to our mission. Be it our lastmaker in England, our craftspeople in Spain and Portugal, or you who wears our shoes anywhere in the world.

Ethical labor: What is Lennertson's policy?

We grew up in working-class families and greatly admire the men and women who work on our footwear. Fair & safe labor conditions are essential to us. We produce locally within the European Union, where the highest standards of these laws and rights are guaranteed. We choose to only collaborate with companies that share our values.
